Our Story
JP Landscaping & Fencing began in 2007, founded by Jody Platten.
While helping out in a friend’s landscaping business after he returned from travelling, Jody discovered not only a passion for this type of work, but also a talent for it too. As he puts it:
"I loved working outside, building and creating things, doing manual work, and having satisfied customers — knowing the work was done properly.”
What started as helping a mate soon developed into a genuine love for craftsmanship and the satisfaction of transforming outdoor spaces.
Over the past 18 years, we've grown into a trusted family business in North Dorset. Jody's brother Todd joined the team, bringing additional expertise, and David, who started as an apprentice, has become an invaluable part of our skilled crew. Expanding the team further whilst still maintaining a family connection, David’s brother, Dan, has now also joined us. (Team photos coming soon!)
Our approach has stayed consistent throughout our journey - personal service, quality workmanship, and excellent value for money. We believe in improving people's outdoor living spaces and giving them great gardens in which to create memories with their families and friends.
